Niels Hendriks

I was born in 1979 in the oldest town of Belgium and became a proud citizen of the World Wide Wonder called the internet since 1997.

I am currently working at the Media & Design Academy in Genk, Belgium & the XIOS university college in Hasselt, Belgium.

I’m on most of the usual social media suspects: Linkedin – Twitter – Scribd – Facebook – Delicious Slideshare – Flickr.

My areas of interest include networked sociality, mediated content creation & the hybridity of the virtual and the physical.

Katrien Dreessen

Born in the 1980 in a small town in Belgium. Started my educational career with communication    management and afterwards communication sciences at the University of Brussels.  After working at SMIT, IBBT and the City of Bilzen, I joined the Media & Design Academy in Genk in oktober 2008, where I’m working on the European project Open Garments.

Regarding the use of social media: I’m a die hard Facebook-addict!

Mainly interested in how people use social media in the context of their everyday life; how social rules are shifting and changing and the fact that social media is becoming a powerfull weapon in current conflicts (e.g. Middle-east conflict).
